HMD Global Set to Launch a New Smartphone: First Look at the Leaked Render

In an exciting turn of events, HMD Global, the Finnish company known for releasing Nokia-branded smartphones, is rumored to be releasing a smartphone under its own brand name. A leaked render of the purported smartphone has recently surfaced online, giving us a glimpse of what HMD’s first smartphone could look like.

Sourced from unnamed industry insiders, 91Mobiles has published an image of the HMD N159V smartphone. The render showcases a sleek black handset featuring a dual rear camera module with an LED flash. What’s intriguing is the brand new HMD logo prominently displayed on the center of the rear panel, indicating a potential shift away from the Nokia branding. The absence of any other branding suggests a desire for a more minimalist design.

Although the name of the first HMD smartphone is still unknown, the leaked render implies that it will fall into the midrange category. The handset is expected to sport a plastic rear panel and is equipped with power and volume buttons conveniently located on the right side. Notably, the device features a flat display, ensuring an immersive visual experience for users.

The leaked render also reveals the inclusion of a front facing camera, which will cater to the growing demands of selfie enthusiasts and video chat users. Positioned within a center-aligned hole punch cutout at the top of the screen, this camera will undoubtedly capture sharp and clear images.

As for audio connectivity, the render omits any indication of a 3.5mm audio jack. Whether the phone will feature the audio jack at the top or bottom remains a mystery. However, this ambiguity aligns with the industry-wide trend of removing the traditional audio jack in favor of wireless and USB-C options.

This recent development comes as no surprise, as HMD Global’s CEO, Jean-Francois Baril, had previously hinted at the company’s plans to introduce HMD-branded devices. Since 2016, HMD Global has successfully marketed Nokia-branded phones worldwide. Now, with their new venture, the company aims to further diversify its product portfolio and enhance its brand presence in the highly competitive smartphone market.

As the leaked render unveils HMD’s first smartphone, anticipation among tech enthusiasts continues to grow. With its sleek design, midrange features, and the introduction of a new brand identity, HMD is poised to make a statement in the smartphone industry. The future looks promising for HMD Global, and we eagerly await the official announcement of their flagship handset. Stay tuned for further updates on this exciting development!
