Family of Elderly Woman Struck by Police Motorbike Escorting Duchess of Edinburgh Praying for Her Recovery

The family of 81-year-old Helen Holland, who was struck by a police motorbike escorting the Duchess of Edinburgh in west London on Wednesday, is asking for prayers for her recovery. Ms. Holland remains in critical condition, and the incident is under investigation by the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC).

Ms. Holland’s family released a statement to Sky News describing her as a “beautiful, loving, kind, and caring lady who would always put anyone before herself.” The family added that Ms. Holland is a well-respected and popular member of the community and that the outpouring of love and support they have received is hugely appreciated.

The Duchess of Edinburgh Sends Thoughts and Prayers to the Injured Lady and Her Family

The Duchess of Edinburgh, who was being escorted by motorcycle outriders at the time of the incident, expressed her heartfelt thoughts and prayers for Ms. Holland and her family through a statement released by Buckingham Palace. The statement also expressed gratitude for the swift response of the emergency services and said that the Duchess will keep abreast of developments.

Ms. Holland, a mother-of-four, grandmother-of-10, and great-grandmother-of-seven, enjoys spending precious time with her family, taking muddy walks with her dogs, and having lunches with her friends. The family is praying for a miracle and asks that others keep Ms. Holland in their thoughts and prayers as well.
