Edward James Olmos has recently opened up about his battle with throat cancer on Mando Fresco’s podcast, “Mando & Friends.” The 76-year-old actor revealed that he finished chemotherapy and radiation in December after being diagnosed with throat cancer. He expressed his gratitude for being in good physical condition, which enabled him to fight the disease. Olmos said that he swims at least a mile a day, and sometimes two miles a day, seven days a week. He also does weights and rowing to maintain his physical fitness.

Despite his good physical condition, Olmos lost 50 pounds during treatment, including a lot of muscle mass. The cancer treatment was tough, and there were times when his body gave up. He didn’t want to take his food through his stomach, so the medical team had to find a way to get 2,500 calories into his body every day.
