The Latest in Vivo’s X100 Series: Introducing the Vivo X100 Pro+

Vivo X100 series, which includes the regular Vivo X100 and Vivo X100 Pro, recently hit the Chinese market with the new MediaTek Dimensity 9300 chipset. However, rumors suggest that a new addition to the lineup, the Vivo X100 Pro+, is on the horizon and will serve as a successor to the Vivo X90 Pro+. Although there hasn’t been any official confirmation yet, leaked details about the handset have surfaced online.

One major upgrade in the upcoming Vivo X100 Pro+ is its display. According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the smartphone will feature a Samsung display with a 2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. This is a significant improvement compared to the current Vivo X100 and X100 Pro models, which come with BOE-supplied OLED panels with a 1.5K resolution.

Additionally, the Vivo X100 Pro+ is rumored to sport a powerful camera. It is said to include a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-900 camera, boasting exceptional image quality. This 1-inch type camera sensor is also expected to be present in other upcoming smartphones such as the Oppo Find X7 Pro and Xiaomi 14 Ultra.

Apart from the display and camera upgrades, the Vivo X100 Pro+ is reported to offer several other noteworthy features. The smartphone is said to come with a 6.78-inch display, providing users with an immersive viewing experience. It may also feature an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for secure authentication and an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, making it a durable choice for outdoor use.

Under the hood, the Vivo X100 Pro+ is likely to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, ensuring smooth performance and efficient multitasking capabilities. This is a departure from its predecessors, which utilize the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 SoC. The inclusion of the latest Qualcomm SoC indicates that the Vivo X100 Pro+ will be a formidable competitor in its price range.

The Vivo X100 Pro and Vivo X100 were initially launched in China with price tags of CNY 4,999 (approximately Rs. 56,500) and CNY 3,999 (approximately Rs. 50,000), respectively. These smartphones are confirmed to soon enter the Indian market and have already been launched in select global markets last week.

Both phones in the Vivo X100 series run on Android 14-based OriginOS 4, providing users with a feature-rich and intuitive user interface. They also come with curved 6.78-inch 8 LTPO AMOLED displays with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, guaranteeing smooth visuals and immersive content consumption. Additionally, the phones are equipped with Zeiss-branded triple rear camera units, ensuring high-quality photography and videography experiences. Moreover, Vivo’s V3 chip handles image processing, further enhancing the overall camera performance.

Furthermore, the Vivo X100 packs a 5,000mAh battery with support for 120W fast charging, enabling users to quickly replenish their device’s battery. On the other hand, the Vivo X100 Pro features a slightly larger 5,400mAh unit and offers 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging support. Both models come with an IP68-rated build, making them resistant to water and dust.

As the Vivo X100 Pro+ prepares to make its debut, Vivo fans and tech enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating the official announcement and release of the smartphone. With its upgraded display, powerful camera, and impressive specifications, the Vivo X100 Pro+ aims to establish itself as a top contender in the competitive smartphone market.
