The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra has been the subject of much speculation in recent months, with rumors suggesting that a new foldable smartphone is on the horizon. According to a recent report by Android Authority, the smartphone is indeed in development and is expected to be launched at the next Galaxy Unpacked event. However, there is a catch – the Ultra foldable is said to be exclusive to South Korea and may not be released in other regions. This limited availability adds a sense of exclusivity to the device, but it may disappoint fans in other parts of the world who are eager to get their hands on the latest foldable technology.
The report by Android Authority reveals that the Ultra variant of the foldable smartphone bears the model number SM-F958N. This unique model number hints at Samsung’s naming convention, as devices with the Ultra moniker typically end with the number eight. For example, the Galaxy S24 Ultra had the model number SM-S928x, while the non-Ultra variant was designated as SM-S921x. This consistent pattern in Samsung’s naming scheme suggests that the Fold 6 Ultra is indeed a high-end device with premium features. However, the presence of only one model number for the smartphone implies that its availability may be limited to the South Korean market. The inclusion of the letter N in the model number further reinforces this speculation, indicating that the Fold 6 Ultra may not see a global release.
Aside from the foldable smartphone, Samsung is also rumored to be unveiling two new smartwatches at the upcoming event – the Galaxy Watch Ultra and Galaxy Watch FE. These smartwatches are expected to succeed the existing Galaxy Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic, marking the beginning of the Watch 7 series. The report by Android Authority hints at the departure of the Classic variant in favor of the FE and Ultra models, offering consumers a wider range of choices in terms of features and design. Three model numbers – SM-L705U, SM-L705N, and SM-L705F – have been associated with the Watch Ultra, indicating that it will be available in South Korea, the US, and globally. Similarly, the Watch FE variant is said to have three model numbers – SM-R866F, SM-R866U, and SM-R866N, suggesting that it will also have a wide-reaching availability.
According to reports, the Galaxy Unpacked event where Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra and the new smartwatches is scheduled to take place in July. This event will likely provide a comprehensive look at the future of Samsung’s foldable smartphones and smartwatches, showcasing the company’s commitment to innovation and pushing the boundaries of technology. As the launch date draws near, fans and tech enthusiasts alike are eagerly awaiting more details about these upcoming devices and the exciting features they will bring to the market. Samsung’s continued focus on foldable technology and wearables is a clear sign of its dedication to providing cutting-edge devices that cater to the needs of modern consumers.
