Samsung to release Galaxy Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic alongside new foldable smartphones

Samsung is set to release its Galaxy Watch 6 Pro and Galaxy Watch 6 models alongside its new range of foldable smartphones in Seoul, Korea next month. Leaked renders of the Galaxy Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic have already surfaced online, showcasing multiple colour options.

Galaxy Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic features

The Galaxy Watch 6 is expected to be available in two case sizes, 40mm and 44mm, while the Watch 6 Classic model could come in 43mm and 47mm sizes. Both models are expected to be available in Wi-Fi and LTE versions. The Galaxy Watch 6 series could also feature sapphire lens protection to the display.

According to German publication, WinFuture.de, the alleged renders of the Galaxy Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic suggest that the Galaxy Watch 6 will come in silver, black, and cream colour options. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic will be available in black and silver options.

The Galaxy Watch 6 Classic will feature rotating bezels with a close resemblance to the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic, which will allow users to navigate through widgets and apps. This backs up previous rumours.

Galaxy Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic specifications

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 will come in two variants with 40mm and 44mm case sizes, while the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic will come in 43mm and 47mm sizes. Both models will be available in Wi-Fi and LTE options. Samsung is expected to use its in-house Exynos W930 chip in the Galaxy Watch 6 lineup.

The displays of the new models could have a sapphire glass covering to ensure protection from scratches and will have a 5ATM water resistance rating.

Galaxy Unpacked event

Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Watch 6 models at the end of July at its Galaxy Unpacked event in Seoul, which will also feature the launch of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 foldable smartphones. The Galaxy Tab S9 is also expected to make its debut during the event.
