Mackenzie Davis has been cast in the upcoming horror film “Speak No Evil,” a new adaptation of the Danish horror film “Gæsterne.” The film is set to be released on August 9, 2024, and is produced by Blumhouse and Universal.
About the Film
“Speak No Evil” follows the story of a family who is invited to spend a weekend at a beautiful country house. However, the dream holiday quickly turns into a twisted psychological nightmare. The film is written and directed by James Watkins, and is based on the screenplay of “Gæsterne” by Christian Tafdrup and Mads Tafdrup.

“Gæsterne” was released in 2022 and received 11 Danish Film Award nominations, which is the Danish equivalent of the Oscars. The film was highly acclaimed and praised for its horror elements and gripping storyline.

Mackenzie Davis is a Canadian actress who has made a name for herself in both film and television. She has previously starred in films such as Tim Miller’s “Terminator” reboot and Clea Duvall’s “Happiest Season” opposite Kristen Stewart. Davis also played a lead role in Sophia Takal’s “Always Shine” and was most recently seen on stage in Simon Stone’s production of “Phaedra” at the National Theatre.
