It’s A Wonderful Knife is a new slasher horror film that follows the story of Winnie Carruthers, played by Jane Widdop, who is a young woman living in Angel Falls. After saving her town from a psychotic killer on Christmas Eve, Winnie’s life takes a turn for the worse. When she wishes she had never been born, she finds herself in a parallel universe where things are much worse than they were before. The killer is back, and she must team up with the town misfit to identify the killer and return to her own reality.

The Cast and Crew

Jane Widdop, one of the breakout stars of Showtime’s hit series Yellowjackets, leads the cast as Winnie Carruthers. Joel McHale plays Winnie’s father David, while Justin Long plays the town’s patron Mr Waters.

The film is executive-produced by Independent Entertainment and is now in post-production. Michael Kennedy, who wrote the script and serves as executive producer, delivers a thrilling horror experience that combines comedy and horror. Tyler MacIntyre, the director of Tragedy Girls, directs the film, while the producers are Divide/Conquer and Seth Caplan in association with Fourth Culture Films.

Divide/Conquer has several successful horror film credits to its name, including Universal’s Freaky and Sydney Sweeney-starrer The Voyeurs. The film is set to launch at the upcoming Cannes film market, where a North American theatrical deal is reportedly being negotiated.

Sarah Lebutsch, MD International Sales, Independent Entertainment, expressed her excitement for the film’s release and the chance to partner with Seth Caplan and Divide/Conquer. She stated that Michael Kennedy’s script delivers a roller coaster ride that horror audiences worldwide will love, and Tyler’s excellent direction combined with the charismatic cast will make for a truly fun Christmas horror film.

Adam Hendricks and Greg Gilreath of Divide/Conquer commented on their admiration for Michael Kennedy’s creativity and their excitement for the collaboration with Tyler Macintyre. They said that bringing together Kennedy’s unique fusion of horror and comedy is an honour.
