Google Pixel 9 Series: New Features and Upgrades

The much-anticipated Google Pixel 9 series is all set for its grand launch on August 13th. Fans of the Google Pixel phones have been eagerly waiting for the successor to the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro handsets. In addition to the base and Pro models, it is rumored that there will be a Pixel 9 Pro XL variant in the upcoming lineup.

One of the most exciting upgrades in the Google Pixel 9 series is the inclusion of an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor. According to reports from Android Authority, the smartphones in this series will feature Qualcomm’s 3D Sonic Gen 2 (QFS4008) sensor, which is the same sensor used in the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. Ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensors are touted to be faster and more accurate than optical sensors. They are also known to work better even when users’ fingers are wet or dusty and do not require a part of the display to light up for activation.

While all models in the Google Pixel 9 series will come equipped with ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanners, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold is rumored to have a side-mounted fingerprint sensor embedded in the power button. This foldable smartphone is expected to bring added convenience and security to its users.

The Google Pixel 9 series phones are speculated to be powered by Tensor G4 SoCs and will run on Android 15. This combination promises seamless performance and enhanced user experience. The base Pixel 9 model is likely to feature a 6.24-inch AMOLED screen, while the Pro and XL variants may come with 6.34-inch and 6.73-inch AMOLED screens, respectively.

Recently leaked images of the vanilla Google Pixel 9 have revealed a sleek pink color option. The phone sports a unique pill-shaped rear camera module, adding a touch of modernity and style to its design.

The Google Pixel 9 series is shaping up to be a game-changer in the world of smartphones. With cutting-edge technology, innovative features, and stunning design, these phones are bound to create a buzz in the market. Stay tuned for the official launch on August 13th to witness the next evolution in the Google Pixel lineup.
