Critical Analysis of Poco X6 Neo Launch and Comparison with Redmi Note 13R Pro

Poco, the Xiaomi sub-brand, seems to be preparing for the launch of the Poco X6 Neo in India. The brand recently teased the arrival of a new smartphone from the Poco Neo series on its social media handle. While the exact launch date and name were not confirmed, the hints suggest that the Poco X6 Neo might be the upcoming device. Rumors indicate that it could be a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 13R Pro, which debuted in China last year. The Poco X6 Neo is expected to be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 6080 SoC, offering users a decent performance.

Interestingly, around the same time, Realme launched the Realme 12 5G with a MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ 5G SoC. Poco India’s head, Himanshu Tandon, took a swipe at Realme by expressing skepticism over the use of an LCD panel and processor in a sub-17K smartphone. He highlighted that the Poco M65 5G provides the same chipset at a lower price point, encouraging potential buyers to wait for the new Poco X6 Neo. This competitive spirit between brands is common in the Indian smartphone market and often benefits consumers as they have more options to choose from.

Exclusive details about the design of the Poco X6 Neo have been shared, hinting at an orange color variant with dual rear cameras, reminiscent of the Redmi Note 13R Pro. The pricing is speculated to be below Rs. 16,000, making it an attractive option for budget-conscious consumers. The Redmi Note 13R Pro, on the other hand, was priced at CNY 1,999 (approximately Rs. 23,000) in China for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant. If the Poco X6 Neo indeed turns out to be a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 13R Pro, we can expect similar specifications and features between the two devices.

The Redmi Note 13R Pro boasted a 6.67-inch OLED display with a high refresh rate of up to 120Hz and PWM dimming. It was powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 6080 SoC coupled with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The camera setup included a 108-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor on the rear, along with a 16-megapixel front camera for selfies. Additionally, the smartphone featured a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security and a sizable 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support for long-lasting usage.

The imminent launch of the Poco X6 Neo in India brings excitement to the budget smartphone segment. With a potential rebranding of the Redmi Note 13R Pro, consumers can expect a feature-packed device at an affordable price point. The competition between Poco and Realme further intensifies the market dynamics, offering consumers more choices and better value for their money. The upcoming Poco X6 Neo promises to deliver a competitive performance, stylish design, and attractive pricing, making it a compelling option for Indian smartphone buyers.
