Apple’s iPhone 15 series has just hit the market, but discussions and rumors about the next year’s iPhone 16 lineup have already started circulating. According to a recent report, the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max models will feature a 0.2-inch larger display compared to their predecessors. This means that the Pro models launching in 2024 might offer around 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch display sizes respectively, providing users with a more immersive visual experience.
Furthermore, the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are rumored to come equipped with Qualcomm’s latest cellular modem, which is expected to enhance the devices’ 5G performance. On the other hand, the regular iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus models will likely retain the Snapdragon X70 modem, offering a slightly lower 5G capability.
In addition to a larger display and improved 5G performance, the iPhone 16 Pro models are said to support Wi-Fi 7 connectivity, while the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus models are expected to have an upgrade to Wi-Fi 6E. This means that users can anticipate faster and more stable wireless connections with the Pro models.
For photography enthusiasts, Apple is rumored to introduce some exciting camera upgrades. The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max models could feature a 12-megapixel tetra-prism lens, offering better zoom capabilities and overall image quality. Moreover, the Pro lineup is expected to include a new ultra-wide lens, while the regular iPhone 16 models might stick with two rear camera sensors without optical zoom.
Under the hood, the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are speculated to be powered by the A18 Pro Bionic chip, which will be based on a 3nm process. This next-generation chip is expected to enhance the devices’ overall performance, offering faster processing speeds and better energy efficiency.
On the other hand, the regular iPhone 16 models will reportedly feature a toned-down version of the A17 Pro chip. While it may not offer the same level of performance as the Pro models, users can still expect a reliable and capable device.
These rumors align with previous reports and analyses by industry experts. Ross Young, an analyst from DSCC, had previously suggested that the iPhone 16 Pro models would receive an upgrade in screen size. This further adds credibility to the ongoing speculations about the upcoming iPhone 16 lineup.
As for availability, Apple’s iPhone 15 series was launched recently during the Wonderlust event. The iPhone 15 Pro starts at Rs. 1,39,900 for the base 128GB storage model in India, while the iPhone 15 Pro Max begins at Rs. 1,59,900. These devices are currently available for purchase in the country.
While the iPhone 16 is still a year away from release, rumors and speculations surrounding its features and specifications are already captivating the tech community. With a potentially larger display, enhanced 5G performance, improved connectivity options, advanced camera features, and a powerful chip, the iPhone 16 lineup seems promising.
