German Films, an agency dedicated to promoting German cinema worldwide, has announced the seven participants for the ninth edition of their annual Face to Face campaign. This year’s edition, titled “Face to Face with German Films – The Filmmakers,” aims to highlight the contributions of these talented individuals to the German film industry. The campaign serves as an important platform for showcasing German filmmaking talent to international audiences.
The seven participants selected for this year’s Face to Face campaign are Jan Bülow, Mehmet Akif Büyükatalay, Banafshe Hourmazdi, Moritz Müller-Preißer, Mona Cathleen Otterbach, Eva Trobisch, and Soleen Yusef. These individuals have made a significant impact on the German film industry through their creative and artistic work. They now follow in the footsteps of acclaimed filmmakers who have previously participated in the campaign, such as Sandra Hüller, Christian Friedel, and Alexander Fehling.
The Face to Face campaign will commence with a virtual event on February 8, hosted by Deadline. During this event, four of the talented filmmakers, namely Jan Bülow, Moritz Müller-Preißer, Banafshe Hourmazdi, and Soleen Yusef, will engage in discussions about the challenges and opportunities faced by the German film and television industries today. Following this, the participants will take part in a panel event organized by German Films during the Berlin Film Festival on February 19.
Simone Baumann, the Managing Director of German Films, expressed the agency’s commitment to nurturing emerging talents in the German film industry.
